Ep. 22: Call to Action! S.794

Updated: Apr 19, 2018

Senate bill 794 proposes a series of reforms to the process by which Medicare Administrative Contractors can finalize Local Coverage Determinations. For those of you who signed the "We the People" petition opposing the 2015 draft LCD for lower limb prostheses, you already understand the devastating effects that a change in Medicare coverage policy can have on your coverage, regardless of whether you are a Medicare beneficiary or insured by some other payer. S.794 would address many of the shortcomings with the current LCD process that came to light in 2015.

In this podcast, we review the relevant history of the 2015 draft LCD, we provide a comprehensive overview of S.794, and we provide you instructions on how to make your voice heard regarding this important piece of legislation.
